Mohali : The four day finals of Punjab State Inter District Under 16 years Tournament for 2025-2026 was played between Mohali U-16 and Ropar U-16 Teams at PCA New Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur from 29th April,2025 to 02nd May,2025. Mohali U-16 won by 7 wickets.
Ropar won the toss and elected to Bat first. Batting first Ropar scored 223 all out in 63.5 overs. Prabhsimar Singh 124 off 1761 balls with 20 fours and Tikshan Bhalla unbeaten 40 off 43 balls with 4 boundaries were the main run getters for Ropar. For Mohali Shivam Matri 2 for 48, Abhishek Rajput 3 for 79 and Virat Varma 2 for 28 were the main wicket takers.
Replying, Mohali scored 415 all out in 178.2 overs in their first innings and took a lead of 192 runs. They were helped in their cause by Pulkit Rana 53, Anhad Singh 69, Ayaan Srivastava 85, Akshat Gagneja 109 and Abhishek Rajput unbeaten 58. For Ropar Yuvraj Singh 3 for 94, Harman 2 for 65, Rajveer Singh 2 for 73 and Jaskirat Singh 2 for 98 were the main wicket takers.
In the second innings Ropar scored 308 for all in 87.4 overs and set a target of 117 runs for Mohali. Prabhsimar Singh unbeaten 184, Rajveer Singh 21, Jaskirat Singh 52 and Akshay Sharma 21 were the main run getters for Ropar. For Mohali Abhishek Rajput 5 for 83 and Jovan Deep 2 for 48 were the main wicket takers.
Mohali chased the target of 117 runs by scoring 121 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 27.3 overs. Mohali won by 7 wickets.
Presentation Ceremony:
As Guest of Honour Mr. Abhishek Mookherjee, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, (PCA) graced the occasion and gave away the awards to the teams. Runners-up team Ropar U-16 years was awarded a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000/- while Mohali Under 16 years was awarded the Winners Trophy and cash prize of Rs.2,00,000/-.
